Mr Alan Phipps

Alan Phipps is a highly experienced plastic surgeon working in private practice and in the NHS in West Yorkshire. He is a fully trained and accredited plastic surgeon, listed in the GMC's Specialist Register.

Alan Phipps received his medical education at Cambridge and Oxford Universities. A chance encounter with plastic surgery by as a medical student left him fascinated. After initial surgical posts leading to the FRCS diploma, he went on to train in plastic surgery in the Midlands and in London, after which he was awarded the specialist FRCS(Plast) qualification.

He has been a consultant at the Mid Yorkshire NHS Trust since 1994, based at Pinderfields Hospital, where he has a specialist interest in the treatment of burns and scars and leads the clinical team in the regional Burn Centre.

In private practice he specialises in cosmetic surgery, with a particular interest in facial plastic surgery, breast surgery (breast enlargement, breast reduction and breast uplift) and body contouring (abdominal surgery and liposuction). 

In all professional areas, Alan Phipps aims to offer not only a high standard of clinical care, but also a relaxed and approachable personal manner. He believes that this helps patients to make well-informed, confident decisions about their treatment.

He is a full member of the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAPRAS - previously BAPS), and of the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS). He is a member of the British Burn Association and the International Society for Burn Injuries.
