Anti-wrinkle treatment

There are  a wide range of anti wrinkle treatments available.

Wrinkle relaxing injections: Wrinkle relaxing injections are a temporary treatment used for wrinkles on the forehead and around the eyes and lips. Botox, Vistobel and Dysport are all brands of Botulinum Toxin, which is a neurotoxic protein produced by a bacterium. Although Botulinum Toxin is one of the most naturally occurring poisoness substances in the world, it is used in minute doses to treat painful muscle spasms, and as a cosmetic treatment. When injected into selected facial muscles in the right dose it will relax the area treated 5-7 days after treatment for anywhere from between 4 and 10 months.

Dermal fillers: Dermal fillers help fill out lines and creases that develop as we age and temporarily restore a younger looking appearance. They are effective on nose-to-mouth grooves, forehead lines, frown lines, crow's feet, lipstick lines, acne scars and in increasing the fullness of lips.

Dermal fillers can be either collagen injections, derived from cows or other non-human sources, or made of hyaluronic acid, such as Restylane and Perlane, a naturally occurring substance.

Collagen, a normal substance of the body, is injected under the skin to "stretch" and "fill out" certain types of superficial lines and deep soft scars. Collagen is derived from cows or other non-human sources and cannot be used in people with autoimmune diseases. Human collagen or fascia is helpful for those allergic to cow-derived collagen. Cosmetic benefit from collagen injection usually lasts 3 to 6 months.

Restylane and Perlane are dermal fillers used to temporarily fill lines, wrinkles and to plump up thin lips. Restylane and Perlane are made of Hyaluronic Acid, which is derived from a non-animal based product. Unlike Collagen, this reduces the chance allergic symptoms developing in humans and does not require a pre-treatment tester. Restylane and Perlane will generally remain in the treated area from between 3 and 6 months following treatment. These dermal fillers are administered with a simple injection technique.

Sculptra injections: Sculptra is an injectable product based on Polyactic Acid, which, when injected into a line or wrinkle both fills out the area and begins to stimulate the natural production of new collagen. The main benefit of this injectable treatment is that it will continue a natural restructuring process for several months after treatment and as a result last longer than many other types of Dermal Fillers.

Microdermabrasion: Microdermabrasion is a relatively new technique and more superficial form of a surgical dermabrasion technique commonly performed by Plastic Surgeons. In microdermabrasion, aluminum oxide crystals pass through a vacuum tube to remove surface skin. This polishing of the top layer of your face produces immediate results of a smoother, younger looking skin.

It can be used to treat fine lines and wrinkles, sun damaged and acne skin, hyper pigmentation and superficial age spots. Because only the very surface cells of the skin are removed this treatment is virtually painless, although multiple procedures are often required and deep scars may not be significantly improved.
